Drama Department

It has been a big Term in Drama classes at the Eastmeadows and Dallas campuses. We have been busily creating and rehearsing for the year 6 graduation play with 6 C and 6D, as well as the primary concert and this is all on top of the usual classroom performances!

This term Drama students in grade 4 and 5 have had the opportunity week after week to ‘brave the stage’ and perform. Each week students have had a different improvisation task which focuses on improving student’s confidence, communication skills and cooperation on stage. It has been a huge success with lots of laughter and many students’ surprising classes with their wit and creativity.

Over at the Dallas campus our Year 6’s have focused on stage vs. screen acting. After devising scripts for both theatre and film throughout the year they now got a turn at acting like professional actors ‘auditioning’ for commercials and experimenting with characters for screen. It has been a great experience and one enjoyed by all.

Well done to all year 4-6 drama students for a great year and looking forward to another creative and inspiring year in 2018.

A note from our School Counsellors

Dear Parents and students,

We have reached another end to the education year. We laughed, played, studied, learned and enriched out lives during the year as they grew more mature and responsible. It has been a pleasure to see their personalities grow day by day and see how they have developed socially.

At the end of the year, have your child write a letter to themselves about the goals they have accomplished and their future goals for next year. Before the start of school in 2018, have them re-visit their letter to remember it and refocus their attention on their learning and development.

Take care of your children and enjoy the summer break with your families.

Sincerely,
The school counsellors,
Duygu Dikbas & Eda Akin
